A Rock-in’ Good Time at the Block Party!

One little artist painting a minion.

The Chamber was so proud to be invited by the Hemphill County Sheriff’s Office to be a part of their Block Party this year! We put our heads together to try to come up with a fun activity that would be new and fun for the whole family and came up with rock painting!

To get people excited about the Block Party and to have a little fun ourselves, our office staff got together and painted a few rocks – then we hid them throughout the community and posted it on Facebook. We were shocked at how quickly the rocks were found! It was so much fun to watch them being found on social media! The winners brought their rocks to the Block Party to trade them in for Canadian Cash.

We were lucky (or unlucky?) enough to have a booth right next to where the Canadian Volunteer Fire Department was cooking up the burgers. OMG they smelled so good!

Torture… I mean BURGERS!

After the masses had filled their bellies, they came to paint some rocks. We even had a visit from some awesome EMT guys!

A great time was had by all and we are so grateful for the chance to be a part of it! We were so busy, we didn’t get a chance to take photos of the other activities going on, so if you would like to share your photos with us, please do!
